A friendly beginning with strings
Comfortable for small hands, ukulele develops rhythm, finger coordination, chords, and melody while opening a path toward guitar, bass, and other string-based music.

Recorder introduces breath control, articulation, fingering, and note reading—preparing young musicians for flute, clarinet, saxophone, or brass.

Gala Yaroshevsky founded Orange Music Studio in 2005. A flutist, pianist, conductor, and lifelong music educator, she has been a member of the Music Teachers’ Association of California since 1999 and has prepared hundreds of students for evaluations, auditions, competitions, and performances.
She brings together accomplished educators and working musicians, then personally supports the match between each teacher and family.

A serious music education can still feel like home.
Orange Music Studio was founded in San Jose in 2005 by musician, conductor, and educator Gala Yaroshevsky. Gala grew up in an immersive musical environment where private instruction, theory, history, ensembles, performances, and friendships were all part of one education. OMS was created to give Bay Area students that same sense of possibility.
Here, a student is never treated as simply another time on the schedule. We listen to the family’s goals, match the student with the right teacher, and build an individual path that can grow from a first note to school-band success, examinations, youth-orchestra auditions, competitions, or a lifelong love of music.
Our faculty brings together accomplished educators and working musicians across many instrument families. What unites them is warmth, high standards, and the belief that students progress best when they feel understood. Private focus creates confidence; recitals, ensembles, workshops, and studio events turn that confidence into community.

Frequently asked questions.
How young can a student begin?
Readiness depends on the child and the instrument. Piano, recorder, drums, voice, violin, and ukulele can work well for young beginners. A trial lesson lets us make a thoughtful recommendation.
Can adults take lessons?
Absolutely. Adult beginners and returning musicians are welcome, and lessons are shaped around individual goals, interests, and pace.
How does monthly membership work?
Your recurring weekly time is based on 48 lessons per year. Some months have three lessons and some have five, while tuition remains the same each month.
What happens if we need to miss a lesson?
Give at least 24 hours’ notice. Up to two eligible regular lessons per month may be rescheduled and completed within 30 days, subject to teacher availability.
What if the student and teacher are not the right match?
Tell us. With specialists across instrument families, we can help evaluate another teacher or approach rather than leaving the family to solve the mismatch alone.
